The fees and features below are based on public information as of 2026-06. Apps update frequently, so please double-check the actual screens, fees, and payment availability against each app's latest version and official announcements.
In February 2026, Baemin opened up English, Chinese, and Japanese interfaces. From June 2nd, it also began accepting Apple Pay payments with overseas cards. Coupang Eats lets you switch the app language to English, and Shuttle — built specifically for foreigners — is in English from start to finish.
Even without a Korean phone number or a Korean card, the number of ways to order using an overseas-issued card, Alipay, or WeChat Pay is growing fast. That said, payment availability varies by app, timing, and card issuer, and getting stuck at the identity verification step (a 6-digit SMS code) is still common. Let's start with which apps are worth installing and how to set them to English.
Comparing Korea's Big Three Delivery Apps + Foreigner-Focused Services
| App | Operator | English support | Overseas cards | Alipay / WeChat Pay | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baedal Minjok (Baemin) | Woowa Brothers | ○ (EN·CN·JP, since 2026-02) | ○ | ○ Alipay+ / WeChat Pay | Largest number of merchants; Apple Pay overseas cards added (2026-06) |
| Coupang Eats | Coupang | ○ (in-app language switch) | ○ | △ (varies by timing) | Fast delivery, real-time tracking, free delivery with Wow membership |
| Yogiyo | GREAT Imagination (formerly Delivery Hero Korea) | △ (mostly Korean) | △ | △ | Delivery fees tend to be relatively low |
| Shuttle | Shuttle Delivery | ◎ (English only, built for foreigners) | ○ | ○ | Designed for foreigners, English customer support |
○=supported, △=partial / varies by timing, ◎=fully in English. Availability may vary depending on your card issuer, region, and app version.
Which App Should You Install First?
- Most menu variety and merchants: Baedal Minjok. It has the widest coverage of Korean restaurants.
- Fast delivery, English convenience, free-delivery promotions: Coupang Eats. You can switch the interface to clean English, and delivery is free with Wow membership.
- Fully English from start to finish, foreigner support: Shuttle. Since it's a service aimed at the foreigner community, it offers English customer support and accepts overseas payment methods.
1) Baedal Minjok (Baemin) — English Settings & Payment
Since February 2026, Baemin has offered English, Chinese, and Japanese interfaces. Everything from search → restaurant/menu selection → payment → real-time delivery tracking runs in your chosen language.
Switching the Language to English
Baemin doesn't have an in-app language menu; instead, you change the per-app language in your phone's system settings.
- Open your phone's Settings
- Find Baedal Minjok (Baemin) in the app list
- Select Language → English
- Reopen Baemin and it will display in English. (The app may also prompt you about the language change with a pop-up.)
Payment Methods
- Supports overseas-issued credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, etc.)
- Supports global easy-payment options such as WeChat Pay and Alipay+
- Apple Pay payments with overseas cards added (since 2026-06-02): you can register cards issued as VISA, Mastercard, JCB, or Amex to Apple Pay and pay that way
Baemin's overseas-payment orders are climbing sharply. According to the operator's figures, global-payment order volume in 2025-12 was up about 300% year over year, and orders using overseas payment methods in 2026 Q1 rose about 3.7 times.
2) Coupang Eats — English Settings & Payment
This is the app foreigners most often name as "the easiest to use in English."
Switching the Language to English
- Tap Profile (the person icon) at the bottom
- Scroll down and select the Language item
- Switch to English → the menus and ordering process will display in English
Delivery Fees & Membership
- Wow membership: free delivery
- Without membership, the delivery fee is usually around 2,000–4,000 won
- In 2026, there have been cases of a temporary "0 won delivery fee per order" promotion offered even to regular members (limited period)
Korea has no tipping culture. You don't need to give the delivery rider a separate tip.

3) Yogiyo — Using the Web + Translation
The Yogiyo app is mostly in Korean. Instead, if you use the Yogiyo website together with Google Translate in the Chrome browser, you can browse the menu in English and place an order. It has a reputation for relatively low delivery fees. Support for overseas cards and easy-payment options may vary by timing and merchant, so check at the payment step.
4) Shuttle — An English-Only Service for Foreigners
Shuttle is a delivery service built for foreigners living in or visiting Korea. The entire app is in English, it offers English customer support, and it accepts overseas payment methods. If you don't speak any Korean, this has the lowest barrier to entry. The trade-off is that it may have fewer merchants than the three big services.
Identity Verification & Phone Number Issues (the Most Common Sticking Point)
Many Korean apps are designed around an identity verification process that assumes a 6-digit SMS verification code tied to a Korean phone number, a Korean-issued card, and a resident registration number. If you're missing even one of these, it's not just that some features are blocked — sometimes payment itself is blocked.
- If you have a Korean phone number: sign-up and verification go most smoothly.
- If you don't have a Korean number or haven't received your registration card yet: after arriving in Korea, it usually takes more than a month for a foreigner to receive documents like the Alien Registration Card (ARC). During this period, opening a Korean phone line or bank account can be difficult. In that case, it's more practical to first consider apps that accept overseas cards and easy payments, a foreigner-only service (Shuttle), or a service designed so that no separate identity verification is required.
Note: The Alien Registration Card (ARC) and the domestic residence report card for overseas Koreans (F-4) are separate systems. For the procedures that match your visa type, please check the government's official channels (HiKorea, hikorea.go.kr; the Immigration Contact Center, 1345). Practical Tips for Entering Your Address & Receiving Delivery
- We recommend entering your delivery address in Korean. Even if you use the app in English, an address the rider sees in English can cause confusion. Enter the road-name address (e.g., "○○-ro 12, 3rd floor") in Korean.
- It helps to note requests in advance, such as how to enter the building, the shared entrance passcode, or "Leave at door."
- You can check the estimated arrival time and location via real-time tracking (especially on Coupang Eats).
- Each merchant has a minimum order amount (e.g., some restaurants set it in the 10,000-won range). Check the displayed amount before paying.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1. Can I use a delivery app without a Korean phone number? A. It depends on the app, the merchant, and the payment method. If identity verification assumes a Korean-number SMS, payment may be blocked. Start with a foreigner-only service (Shuttle) or an app that accepts overseas cards and easy payments, and if you get blocked at the payment step, switch your payment method and try again.
Q2. Which app is easiest in English? A. If full English is the goal, Coupang Eats (in-app language switch) and Shuttle (foreigner-only) are the most convenient. The one with the most menu choices is Baedal Minjok, which has supported English since 2026-02.
Q3. Can I pay with a card issued overseas? A. Baemin, Coupang Eats, Shuttle, and others accept overseas-issued cards. However, whether it works can depend on the card issuer, country of issue, app version, and timing. Since 2026-06, Baemin also supports Apple Pay with overseas cards (VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Amex).
Q4. Can I order food delivery with Alipay or WeChat Pay? A. Baedal Minjok supports global easy payments such as Alipay+ and WeChat Pay. Other apps may vary by timing and merchant, so you'll need to check at the payment screen.
Q5. How much are the delivery fee and tip? A. On Coupang Eats, without membership the delivery fee is roughly 2,000–4,000 won, and it's free with Wow membership (subject to change during promotions). Korea has no tipping culture, so you don't pay a separate tip.
