1. How to Get to Everland (Yongin)

Everland is in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. From central Seoul it's about 1 to 2 hours one way. The time difference is quite large depending on which route you pick.

Option A. Private Shuttle Bus (Easiest, Reservation Required)

A round-trip shuttle bus that goes straight from major Seoul hubs to Everland's main gate. Since there are no transfers, this is the lowest-effort option for foreigners.

Option B. Subway + Yongin EverLine (T-money or Cash Is All You Need)

This is the classic public-transit route you can take with just a transit card — no reservation and no verification needed. The distance is long, so there are many transfers, but the upside is that it's the cheapest.

Standard route (example starting from Gangnam):

1. Gangnam Station → board the Sinbundang Line → get off at Jeongja Station
2. At Jeongja Station, transfer to the Suin-Bundang Line → get off at Giheung Station
3. At Giheung Station, transfer to the Yongin EverLine (light rail) → get off at the last stop, Jeondae·Everland Station
4. Exit through Exit 3 at Jeondae·Everland Station and board the free shuttle bus → Everland main gate

If you start from a downtown area like Myeongdong or Hongdae, it can take more than 2 hours one way. It's good to keep in mind that there will be three or four transfers.

The fare is the sum of standard subway and light-rail fares (distance-based), and if you use a transit card you get the transfer discount.

Option C. City Bus (Direct, Few Transfers)

This is taking a direct city bus toward Yongin from a major Seoul hub. These are seated coaches so you can ride comfortably, and they connect to near the front/rear gate (you'll need to check the drop-off point for each route).

Travel time depends heavily on traffic. Check the bus number and stop in real time on a map app before you leave.

Option D. Taxi / Ride Hailing

Everland Admission Tickets (2026 Reference)

Discounted 1-day passes for foreigners vary by season and point of sale. Based on some 2026 promotions, they run about ₩44,000–₩51,000. The exact price and discount change depending on when and where you buy, so check the official Everland site (everland.com).

2. How to Get to Nami Island (Gapyeong)

Nami Island is an island floating in the middle of a river. You can't reach it overland — the only way in is by ferry (or zip wire) from the Gapyeong dock. So it's simplest to break it into two steps: "how to get to the Gapyeong dock" and "how to get onto the island."

Step 1 — From Seoul to Gapyeong

Option A. ITX-Cheongchun (Fastest and Most Comfortable)

• Board the ITX-Cheongchun at Yongsan Station or Cheongnyangni Station → get off at Gapyeong Station
• Travel time: about 55–60 min
• Fare: about ₩6,000–₩8,500 one way (varies by section and class)
• It's a reserved-seat train, so you need to book, and in some cases you can also ride standing.

Option B. Gyeongchun Line Train (Cheap, T-money Only)

• Board the Gyeongchun Line (metropolitan train) at stations like Sangbong or Cheongnyangni → get off at Gapyeong Station
• It's slower than the ITX, but with just a transit card you can ride without a reservation.
• The fare is distance-based, so it's cheaper than the ITX.

Option C. Direct Shuttle Bus

• Round-trip shuttle buses run from places like Hongik University Station Exit 4, Namsan Yejang Parking Lot, and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station Exit 10 to the Nami Island dock.
• It's convenient because there are no transfers, but the operator, fare, and timetable change often, so check when you book.

Step 2 — From Gapyeong Station to the Dock

Getting off at Gapyeong Station isn't the end. You have to travel one more leg to the Nami Island dock (Gapyeong Naru).

The Gapyeong City Tour Bus is a hop-on/hop-off loop bus that links Nami Island, Petite France, and the Garden of Morning Calm. If you plan to bundle nearby attractions rather than just hitting Nami Island and coming back, this is the better choice.

Step 3 — Onto the Island by Ferry

Nami Island uses an all-in-one pricing structure where the round-trip ferry is included in the admission fee.

As of 2026, the admission fare (round-trip ferry included) is ₩19,000 for adults, ₩16,000 for the preferential rate (middle/high school students, ages 70 and up, etc.), ₩13,000 for the special preferential rate (36 months old through elementary school), and free for children under 36 months. It varies by category, timing, and point of sale, so check the exact amount on the official Nami Island site.

The ferry usually runs 08:00–21:00 at 10–30 minute intervals (10–20 minutes during daytime), and in the summer and autumn peak seasons it may extend service with a first boat at 07:30 or a last boat at 21:30. Once you're aboard, it's only 5 minutes to the island.

3. Transport Tips That Apply to Both Places

• Get a transit card (T-money) ready: On the Seoul/metropolitan subway, the Gyeongchun Line, and city buses, a transit card lets you claim transfer discounts. Since July 2025 you can load T-money into Apple Wallet and use it. Since March 2026, the new ticket machines at 273 Seoul subway stations do accept foreign cards (Visa/Mastercard, etc.), but that only covers single-journey tickets and short-term Climate Card passes.
