Sometimes an agent can do this for you. Ask us and we will check.
The list of countries whose licences are mutually recognised, which lets you skip the written test, changes from time to time under the agreements, so check again with the Korea Road Traffic Authority when you apply. In some cases you have to hand over your home-country licence when you exchange it. An international driving permit can only be used in Korea for up to 1 year, so if you are staying you have to exchange it.

  • Your original home-country driver's license and a notarized translation (or an embassy confirmation letter)
  • Passport and Alien Registration Card (외국인등록증)
  • Certificate of entry and exit records (출입국에 관한 사실증명)
  • Physical examination form and ID photo
