Marriage migrants whose marriage ended through the spouse's death or disappearance, or through the spouse's fault. Also people raising a child who is a Korean national.

An administrative agent can do this for you.
🔴 Getting divorced does not automatically take your status away. But you do need evidence that it was not your fault, and that gets harder to gather as time passes, so get advice right after you separate. Victims of domestic violence have a separate protection procedure.

Papers you usually need
  • Integrated application form (통합신청서, attached Form No. 34)
  • Marriage certificate showing the divorce, or a death certificate
  • Evidence that the spouse was at fault (court judgment, mediation record, medical certificate, counseling records)
  • The child's family relation certificate and proof that you are raising the child
  • Proof that you can support yourself
