You have to file the acquisition report within the set period from the date the contract was signed, and filing late means a fine. Registration work overlaps with the field of judicial scriveners.

Where you file it
The city, county or district office (시·군·구청) for the registration number and the acquisition report; the Immigration Office (출입국·외국인청) for a registration number if you are not registered as a foreign resident
Papers you usually need
- Application for a registration number for property registration (부동산등기용 등록번호 부여 신청서)
- Passport
- Alien Registration Card (외국인등록증), or Domestic Residence Report Card (거소신고증)
- Sales contract
- Report of land acquisition by a foreigner (외국인 토지취득 신고서)
