I've worked a long time on E-9 and I want a visa that lets me keep working

숙련기능인력(E-7-4) 체류자격 변경허가

People who have worked 4 years or more on E-9, E-10 or H-2 within the last 10 years, who are working normally now and can get a recommendation from their employer

An administrative agent can do this for you.
🔴 This is an immigration status change, not an Employment Permit System procedure, so an administrative scrivener can handle it. It is a points system with a set number of places each year - once they are gone you wait 1 year. The points and salary requirements change every year, so check the Ministry of Justice selection plan for the year you apply. Get it ready before your employment period runs out.
Government fee
₩100,000

We'll tell you when we contact you
How long it takes
Usually 2~6 months (reviewed against the yearly quota)
Where you file it
Immigration Office (출입국·외국인청·사무소), or HiKorea online (하이코리아)
Papers you usually need
  • Integrated application form (통합신청서)
  • Passport and Alien Registration Card (외국인등록증)
  • An employment contract that meets the annual salary requirement
  • The employer's recommendation letter and business registration certificate (사업자등록증)
  • Proof for the points score (Korean ability, work experience, income, licenses)
Requirements
  • Work history: You have worked 4 years or more on E-9, E-10 or H-2 within the last 10 years, and you are working normally at your current workplace now
  • Employment contract: A contract of 2 years or more with your current workplace at an annual salary of 26,000,000 won or more (25,000,000 won for farming and livestock, fishing and coastal shipping)
  • Employer recommendation: A recommendation letter from a company you have worked at for 1 year or more (a company can recommend up to 20% of its regular workers)
  • Points: 200 points or more out of 300. You also need 50 points or more in each of the income item and the Korean item
  • Korean: One of these - TOPIK level 2, completion of level 2 of the Social Integration Program (사회통합프로그램), or level 3 (41 points) on the Social Integration Program pre-test. If you meet all the other requirements, the Korean requirement can wait until your first extension (2 years) - this applies until 2026-12-31
  • Application period: 2026-02-01 ~ 2026-12-31 (Ministry of Justice (법무부) Notice No. 2025-406). Applications close once the yearly number of places is filled

Leave a question

Just leave one way to reach you. We check it, pass it to an administrative agent, and the agent contacts you directly.

We only take your request and pass it to an administrative agent. You pay us nothing.

The more you write, the faster the agent can answer you.

It does not have to be a Korean number. Choose the country in the box before this one, and write only the number here.

We do not check what you write, and we do not report it to anyone. We do not tell employers either.

The year and month you are allowed to stay until. Look for the period of stay on your ARC (foreigner ID card), not the card's issue date. It is fine if you are not sure.

The contract has to be signed face to face, so we ask where you live only to connect you with an agent near you.

What you write and your contact go only to the administrative agent handling this. We do not tell your employer. The agent tells you the cost directly.
