It's a tourism pass with built-in transit benefits, so with just one pass you can get perks both when arriving from the airport to the city and when traveling to other regions.
It's an Official Tourism Pass Backed by the Government
K-Tour PASS isn't a discount product from some private company — it's an official program led by the Korea Tourism Organization, a public agency under the Korean government. Here's what you should know:
- It's run by a public institution. The Korea Tourism Organization is running this program with the goal of "revitalizing regional tourism and improving mobility convenience for international visitors," so the benefits going to travelers are the whole point.
- Discounts are subsidized by KTO's budget. This program has a total budget of 1.2 billion KRW allocated for discount support. The discounts you receive aren't random promotions from sellers — they're subsidized amounts from KTO's budget.
- Sales channels are selected through public screening. You can't buy this just anywhere. It will only be available through official sales operators (OTAs) selected by KTO through an open call and evaluation process. These sellers must follow KTO's exact product structure and discount terms, and can't change conditions on their own.
- It's integrated with rail and transit infrastructure. Train benefits are linked with Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) tickets and KORAIL Passes, and airport rail benefits apply directly to actual route reservations.
- Sales performance is regularly reported to KTO. Selected sellers must regularly report sales and usage data to KTO and conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
So you don't need to worry about "Is this discount real?" However, we do recommend checking that the seller is officially authorized before purchasing.
K-Tour PASS Benefits — Up to 40,000 KRW
When you purchase the pass, you'll get these benefits:

Combined, that's up to 40,000 KRW per person. If you take the direct train from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station, then head down to Busan a few days later, you'll use most of these benefits.

- Arriving at Incheon Airport — You can use the free direct train benefit on day one.
- Not just staying in Seoul, going to Busan too — The Busan-bound train/bus discount makes it easy to get value from the pass.
- Planning to visit at least one tourist attraction — Free admission to one paid site is included.
On the flip side, if you're only staying in Seoul for a short trip without going to other regions, you might not be able to use all the benefits. We recommend checking whether your itinerary includes Busan first.
Pass Types
The pass comes in different versions, with some including a KORAIL Pass (unlimited train travel for a set period) and others not.

- With KORAIL Pass — From 2-day to 5-day passes, choose based on your multi-city itinerary.
Choose based on your travel days and movement plans — if you're just doing a Seoul↔Busan round trip, the basic version is often enough.
Transit Card Recharge, Soon Available on Your Phone
K-Tour PASS will include a transit recharge card. But recharging this card has been surprisingly tricky for foreign travelers until now.
- Physical transit cards like T-money can only be recharged with cash at convenience stores or subway station machines
- Machine instructions are mostly in Korean, easy to get confused on your first visit
- Many foreign cards don't work at ATMs for cash withdrawal, so you have to exchange money just to recharge
LACHA will launch NFC transit card recharge functionality in the second half of 2026. Once launched, here's how it changes:
- Open the app and tap your transit card to the back of your phone to see your balance instantly
- Pay with your foreign credit card or e-wallet for the recharge amount
- Tap the card one more time and the recharge is complete
No cash needed, no awkward moments at recharge machines. It works with any Android phone supporting NFC, and detailed device compatibility and launch dates will be announced on the website (lacha.co.kr).
Once this feature launches, you can handle everything from subways to city buses in one app, on top of KTX, express bus, taxi, and airport train bookings.
When and Where Can I Buy It?
Sales are expected to begin in the second half of 2026. Since this is a Korea Tourism Organization program, the launch date, pricing, and sales channels will be officially announced by KTO. Nothing's been finalized yet, so just wait for official announcements from KTO's channels.
One thing to note: since this pass operates on government subsidy budget, it may end early if the budget runs out. If you have fixed travel dates, we recommend checking promptly when sales news is announced.
